The qualified candidate has a working knowledge of a Public Safety operation and the skills necessary to operate as a Communications Officer in an emergency dispatch center for a Public Safety, Municipal EMS, or Private Security Department.
These skills include but are not limited to; The ability to remain alert on any shift day, morning, or night, The ability to multitask, operate radio systems, manage patrol staff daily activity on a CAD system, Monitor all types of Hospital related Security Applications such as Hugs and proprietary access systems.
Incumbent also is trained certified by a municipal EMS entity in order to maintain this position.

Responsibilities:
1.
All persons in this position must attend and successfully complete the State of Connecticut Emergency Tele-communicators Course.
2.
Must be a quick learner with good decision making skills 3.
Have the ability to multi-task and maintain several conversations on the phone or radio while using CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and continue to monitor life support systems such as building Fire Alarm Systems 4.
Answers the Phone within (2) rings, introduces him or herself, and announces department name without deviation.

Monitors facility life support systems such as fire, HVAC, and medical gas status 6.
Has the ability to sit or stand for several continuous hours 7.
Has the ability to monitor several computer screens showing video and data and the skills to react to the situation on hand based on whats being displayed 8.
Is trainable and can use CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) systems such as Perspective or Report Exec to make security entries, document daily security processes, track officers, provide statistics, and maintain a daily log of any Public Safety task completed throughout the day.

Can operate a variety of Motorola (or similar) radio dispatch systems 10.
Can communicate by radio or phone with several disparate departments or agencys on one singular incident 11.
Has the ability to quick scan (monitor) hundreds of video monitors looking for and responding to anomalies 12.
Can monitor radio channels for Fire, Police, Helicopter, and other EMS attempting to communicate with this Department 13.
Monitors Infant Security Systems 14.
Keeps an accurate daily log and notifies the shift manager of significant deviations 15.
Provides CAD reports to shift manager 16.
Attends and successfully completes various 'Power Phone' type courses to increase dispatch skills 17.
Has goods decision making skills and can dispatch Officers to location based on the best choice for the situation 18.
Can transfer and relay calls using the desk phone system 19.
Open doors remotely (through access system) when requested 20.
Monitors and responds to data on primary security system i.
e.
S2, CCURE, etc.

Monitors and responds to incoming panic alarms without deviation 22.
Provides directions to facility when requested 23.
Monitors overhead page systems for emergency information 24.
Has the ability to work in a sustained high stress environment multi-tasking each incident to completion 25.
Supports the Department Manager or Director with control room projects or tasks in the control room or photo ID as needed 26.
Is a problem Solver
Qualifications:
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates degree or some College preferred.
Background in the technical disciplines built in the foundations of Criminal Justice, Information Technology, Law Enforcement, or other Public Safety related work experience.
Must attend and successfully complete Connecticut State Tele-Communicators Course EXPERIENCE Has (3) Years of experience in dispatch for private security; or municipal emergency dispatching including Police, Fire, or EMS LICENSURE None at this time.
State Tele-Communicators Course at a later date SPECIAL SKILLS Self-motivated individual interested in learning new technologies related to the science of emergency services dispatch.
Customer service oriented individual comfortable with interacting with all types of Hospital employees.
Working knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch Systems.
The ability to multi-Task and work in high stress environments.
PHYSICAL DEMAND Ability to work in High Stress Communications Position for a sustained period of time.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
