5 Number of weeks 52 weeks per year other - # of weeks 52 Benefits Eligible Full Benefits Geographical Regional Qualifies for Relocation Reimbursement No Work Schedule Job Description General Scope of Duties The Assistant Director, Buildings and Grounds will manage, direct and coordinate daily facilities services within the Facilities Management Department.
Provide leadership and guidance to custodial services, grounds and landscaping services, campus event support, and the College's faculty/staff housing program.
Provide direct support to the Executive Director of Facilities Management and Campus Planning and collaborate with other departmental assistant directors to plan and manage daily operations and support of the College's physical plant.
General Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Provide leadership and direction for the custodial services operation to provide required cleaning and other services.
2.
Provide leadership for landscape planning, maintenance, and beautification of the College campus grounds.
3.
Provide management support to the department's support of campus events and other special requests; ensure resources are scheduled appropriately per department processes.
4.
Provide support and direction for the College's faculty/staff housing program.
Coordinate with the other department assistant directors to ensure appropriate information flow for tenant billing and residential maintenance/repair services.
5.
Provide management for storm response/emergency closures 6.
Assist in the contracting process for activities requiring outside resources such as tree management, snow removal, road maintenance, pest control, etc.
7.
Participate in the department's monthly financial review process; alert Assistant Director for Budget and Administration to potential budget variances, special expenditures, etc.
8.
Develop and revise policies pertaining to the provisions of services (e.
g.
priorities, scheduling, nature of services provided, degree to which service is provided).
Meet with managers and supervisors to review the activities of assigned areas of responsibility; provide guidance and direction for the attainment of goals and objectives.
9.
Establish priorities, plan and coordinate the day-to-day operations for areas of responsibility.
Review work assignments, maintenance schedules, effectiveness of service programs, procedures and practices; make improvements as needed.
10.
Execute rules, regulations, and safety procedures and assume responsibility for their observance.
11.
Required to be available outside of the College's normal administrative office hours.
Education and Skills 1.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years progressive experience in higher education facility services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) 3.
Strong written and verbal communication skills 4.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite 5.
Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable federal, state and local laws 6.
Strong analytical skills 7.
Demonstrated knowledge of management practices and principles 8.
Able to lead and teach others 9.
Well-organized, able to work under pressure 10.
Ability to interact well with a variety of people from all areas of the college and community 11.
