Researches, develops, and designs tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices. Develops and compares alternative layouts or designs, which utilize equipment of various kinds and capabilities in diverse physical arrangements. Considers structural, mechanical, and hydraulic features. Works on preliminary designs and specifications, and evaluates the numerous and frequent change in design and performance which affect the assigned equipment prior to and during production. Provides mechanical, structural, or electrical design development. Utilizes computers to assist them in efficiently performing computations, and by permitting the modeling and simulation of new designs as well as facilitating changes to existing designs. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) are used for design data processing and for turning the design into a product. Creates model components and analyzes foundation and fastener loads using SolidWorks Simulation. Prepares Technical Manuals, reports, white papers, technical proposals and slide presentations as required. Travels to on-site locations to conduct ship checks as required.
Prefer (3) years or more of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design, preferably in a DoD/Navy environment. Prefer experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or SolidWorks/COSMOS FEA Simulation. Prefer experience with Marine Design & Engineering for DoD Navy Contracts, including familiarity with NAVSEA TEMPALT/SHIPALT requirements. Prefer experience with engineering calculations consisting of Structural, Weights, and Moments and high impact (DDAM). Must be willing to travel to on-site locations to conduct ship checks as required. Must possess or qualify for a security clearance. Must be available for overtime or alternate shifts as required. Must be able to work in an office environment, and potentially in industrial environments (ship check visits onboard US Navy vessels). Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
