This position has a Selective Placement Factor. Applicants NOT possessing this Selective Placement Factor will be found ineligible for this position. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is current possession of a U.S. Coast Guard issued Masters License for the Steam or Motor Vessels not less than 1,600 Gross Tons. (NOTE:
You MUST submit a copy of licenses/certifications with your application package) Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
Ability to do the work of a Ship Pilot without more than normal supervision performing duties such as 1) Piloting marine vessels into and out of harbors to include vessels that may have lost power; 2) Mooring and unmooring ships at piers; 3) Directing the operations and movement of ships from one berth to another or to and from dry dock; AND 4) Moving various barges, yard derricks, and other service craft using harbor tugs and or work boats. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
