You will serve as a senior gardener leading others in the maintenance and improvement of the Academy grounds and the support of athletic and special events, and snow removal. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Laying out, maintaining, and cultivating all flower beds and shrubs.- Transplanting shrubs and trees and rearranges perennials as needed from one area to another.- Assisting in snow removal operations of all road and walkways.- Assisting in the various set up and breakdown of special events and athletic events.- Passing on to other workers the instructions received from supervisor and getting work started by assigning immediate tasks to be performed by the individual members of the group led. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
